Allergic Contact Dermatitis to Temporary Black Henna Tattoo Due to Sensitization to Para-Phenylenediamine

The fashion for temporary “black henna tattoo” is becoming increasingly more common among young adults and teens. An adolescent case with itching, erythema, edema, inflammatory discharge on the right forearm two days after a tattoo application presented in this report. To determine contact sensitizer, patch test was performed one month end of treatment. A bullous strong positive reaction (3+) observed against para-phenylenediamine at 48th 72nd hours evaluation application.
